Watermelon is synonymous with summer and nature designed it so these thirst quenching and sweet fruits are around in the scorching summer days to keep us hydrated and well nourished.

Watermelon is so delicious but it’s also full of nutrients with lots of health benefits. It’s low in calories, rich in antioxidants, great source of vitamins, C, A, B6, B, and has carotenoid lycopene which helps reduce risk of various cancers, and it’s also a natural laxative, just to mention a few. You can also use the white parts and the seeds by putting it into a smoothie, and thinly julienne the watermelon skin and stir fry it. Nothing goes to waste.

Watermelon is 92% water (hence the name) and 6% natural sugar.
You can eat it raw by cutting it open and plunging your face into it (my favorite way), but it’s incredibly versatile. You can add watermelon cubes to any kind of salad, make it into a relish, or make watermelon granita or popsicles, and so much more.

Ingredients
Watermelon of any kind; cubed

Direction
Place the watermelon cubes into a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into your favorite cup and drink away.
You can also put the watermelon through a sieve, if you don’t have a blender.

Optional
You can garnish the juice with a sprig of mint, cucumber or watermelon slices, or lemon wedges. Enjoy!
