It’s summer and it’s hot, humid, and sticky. Instead of slaving away in the kitchen in front of a hot stove or an oven, take advantage of sweet and sensational watermelons, which are in full season. They are sweet, juicy, and so good for us, and you can eat as much as you want. It will naturally keep us hydrated, full, and cool. This is an easy, fast, healthy, yummy, and cool dessert for everybody from kids to grandparents, and it only has two ingredients or maybe even one. You can actually leave out the lime.

Ingredients
4 cups of watermelon (any kind) seeded and cubed
Juice of half a lime (optional, but recommended)

Directions
Place all the ingredients in a blender until it’s thoroughly mixed and then pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer for at least an hour. When hardened, scrape it with a fork, place it in a cup or a bowl, and devour. That’s it! It’s instant air conditioning in your mouth and oh so good.

Alternative Methods:
Freeze the watermelon cubes with lime in a bag overnight.
Place the frozen fruits into a food processor with a chopping blade and run it until you see ice crystals. You can keep it coarse or fine. The choice is yours. Serve immediately and enjoy.

If you don’t have a blender or a food processor, or in a hurry, or feeling incredibly lazy, you can just mesh the watermelon coarsely with a fork or even your bare hands. It’s messy but fun and the kids love doing it. Make sure all hands are clean though.

Note:
You can also do this with peaches, grapefruit, oranges, blueberries and/or strawberries or a mix of fruit of your choice.
